Well, today was a pretty big day. I finally did it and told my dad the truth, that I am gay. Granted it wasn’t easy for either of us, but I’m glad I finally did it. He can’t really accept it, but I can’t go on living a lie. I want to be truthful, and I don’t want to hurt my family either, but I can’t go through live totally unhappy, as I had for a year when I was trying to live like they wanted me to.

So, I’ll be starting 2008 out differently than any other year before, as an out of the closet gay man. I’m so glad that I have very supportive friends that are there for me whenever I need them. Now, I just need to really get on the ball and save money so I can move out. I’d really like to buy a house, but I’m unsure about that at the moment.

Well, yesterday afternoon, my grade posted for my class and I got a B. Granted a B isn’t the greatest, but considering how much I struggled in that class, I’ll gladly take it! I’m just SO glad it’s over! :-) Just think, in a year from now, I should be getting ready to graduate with my Masters! I can’t wait! I’m beginning to think it will never come!

On another note, it’s hard to believe it’s less than two weeks until Christmas! I’ll be going to my parent’s in about a week for Christmas. I’ve already been told we’re going to be pitching in to help clean up as we’re hosting Christmas for my dad’s side of the family… sounds like tons of fun! We won’t be there too long as my sister has to work the day after Christmas, so we’ll be coming back that morning.

Oh and last night was The Graduate School Staff Holiday Dinner and it went well. I think everyone had a great time! I know I did! The food was good and the atmosphere was nice as well! :-)

Well, I am done with my class now.  I just finished my test.  Not sure how I did on it, some of the questions were a little tricky and not to mention there were only four, so they each counted 25 points.  Granted they had multiple parts, but it won’t take much to get a bad grade.  I’m really glad it’s over though, not sure if I’m ready to get my grade.  I struggled through this class.  I never would have taken it if it wasn’t required for my degree.

Anyway, now I have a little more free time!  That is until classes start back in January… then I’ll be taking a night class.  YUCK!!!  Getting up at 4:30 a.m. and staying on campus for class until 8:20 p.m. isn’t going to be very fun!  Guess I may have to try to take a nap during lunch on those days!

On another note, Happy Holidays to everyone!  Although it in no way feels like the holidays as we’re experiencing record warmth right now.  How can someone get into the Holiday Spirit when it’s 77º outside?  Maybe if I lived in Florida it would be different, but this is North Carolina and it should be in the 50s instead!

I am so happy to say that this semester is almost over!!! YAY!!!!!!! Just one last hurdle to clear, the third exam. That’s up on Monday and then, it’s OVER!!! Yes! I’ll have a little more free time! I am really looking forward to it!

On another note, I need to stop procrastinating! I knew about the paper I had to turn in today for what? Two months or so. And when did I really start on it? A few days ago! I keep on saying that I’m going to work on it, but I never do. Oh well, I’m almost done with my masters anyway! :-)
